The 2018 Best Screenplay Winner Is:

John Hunt's crime drama "Sean Royal" won for Best Screenplay 2018.

Screenwriter John Hunt showcases his award with his wife by his side. He was the night's first award recipient. During his acceptance speech he said he rewrote the screenplay so that it could be shot in Philly.

  • Sean Royal - (John Hunt, screenwriter; USA; film script; crime drama, based on a true story; 90 pages) A fictionalized screenplay based on actual case files of a homicide that rocked the national news media. Sean Royal is a detective on the hunt for a pair of thrill killers who murdered an immigrant tech worker, only to find his own life is in a tailspin when his wife turns up missing.
