"Free Agent Fan" Michael Volpe (above) was there for the 2nd FREE Film Collective screening at South Street Cinema on Friday, Dec. 7. He and son Andrew Volpe, who directed the short sports documentary "Michael Volpe: Free Agent Fan - A True Story," were there with family and friends, including Phillies Publicity Director John Brazer. Periphery – (Director: Kimberly Burleigh; animation, experimental, film short; 4 min. 53 sec.; US; 2016) This 3D computer animation features an excerpt from Sir Alfred Hitchcock’s film “Stage Fright” projected through a shape-shifting crystalline screen. The motion picture is revealed in refracted glimpses in the margins of the screen. It is synchronized to the dialogue – an intense conversation that encompasses perplexity, deception, confession, delusion, consolation and threats as well as deceptive maneuvering.
