IFAP welcomes  a new addition to the judges panel

Picture
London-native and Los Angeles-based filmmaker Nick Frew has joined the judges panel for the 2021 IFAP awards!

Film was the family business
Nick Frew was born in London in 1977 to a family steeped in the movie business. His grandfather was the beloved film journalist, Peter Noble, and his grandmother, actress Marianne Stone, has a Guinness World Record for having more credits than any other actress in history.

Nick was educated at progressive prep school St Anthony’s and arts-focused Bryanston. He specialized in the arts, studying Art, English Literature, Music and Theatre at Camden School for Girls (no joke!) before moving onto studying Fine Art at Chelsea College of Art And Design.

An indie filmmaker who wins awards
A versatile filmmaker, Nick is also writer-director of the award-winning short film Perfect Roast Potatoes. The film stars Catherine Tate (The Office), Jonathan Cake (Doll & Em), Tituss Burgess (Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt), and Jessica Walter (Arrested Development) which won critical acclaim and a number of awards at film festivals across North America.

The film earned the Best Short Film award at the 2017 Artois Awards, commonly considered the “Oscars of the casting world.” It has also screened at numerous film festivals, including Nashville, Atlanta, Palm Springs, Vail, Lower East Side, and others.

Charting a creative course
Currently creative director at film and TV production company Dirty Robber, Nick has since done an enormous amount of work for the company. Notably, he served as Executive Producer on a National Geographic documentary made in collaboration with Nike called Breaking 2 (watch the trailer) which won a number of prestigious awards including a Cannes Lion.
